To all our regular customers and visitors to our café/bookshop we wish you a happy and joyful Easter. The Mustard Seed will be closed from 2pm Thursday 28 April until Monday 1 April (inclusive). We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 2 April opening at 9.30am until 4pm.
A date for your diaries – Friday 24th May, 5pm. To coincide with Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival, the Mustard Seed is delighted to be hosting Jen Doll (aka Jenny Flannagan) from critically acclaimed, The Ruby Dolls; a multi-disciplinary ensemble combining theatre, cabaret and close harmony singing, for a one-off event. Those who attended Keswick in Devon’s Thursday seminars will otherwise know Jen from her therapy work with adults and adolescents in Exeter. She will be accompanied on the piano by no other than the Mustard Seed’s own multi-talented volunteer, Rebecca Selby for an intimate hour of song and stories.
This is a free event on a first come first served basis with donations to the Mustard Seed welcome. The café will remain open beyond our usual closing time (usually 4pm) until the end of the event. We hope to see you there!
Luke 24 v1-8: ‘But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise”.
